‘Gibberish’ is a collaboration between two rising DJs from Anjunadeep, Ben Böhmer, and Luttrell, which was released following their creative week in Berlin.
This is also my memoir about a recent walk down a seemingly endless gate hall at Brussels Airport. With ‘Gibberish’ playing in my ears, I felt like dancing on my own Jupiter, despite being surrounded by hundreds of people. I observed their faces and wondered about their final destinations and purpose in life. Were their steps light and free or stumbling under the weight of their lives? Meanwhile, the sun was setting, and the night cast its dark hues across the terminal. Airplanes were continuously taking off and landing, in what seemed like an endless cycle of beginnings and endings. Yet, I felt peaceful, slightly amused by the symbolism of my observations, and, most of all, reminded that what matters in life is only the present moment. Our lives are nothing less than a collection of present moments.
Finally, I arrived at the Gate 69, and ‘Gibberish’ continued to fill my ears with its pulsating bassline, otherworldly synths, and eerie vocals. The contrast between its atmospheric sound and the strong rhythmic backbone gave me a sense of forward motion. It provided the perfect backdrop for my deep introspective thoughts as I waited to embark on my own final destination.
